Q:Â if I start expert witnessing as supplementation to my income, would this affect my qualification for PSLF since this wouldnât be nonprofit?
A: This would not affect PSLF eligibility. BUT the extra income would affect your income based repayment. However, you could shelter that income with a solo-401K. Even if you have a 401k/403b and are maxing it out (the employee portion), you can contribute to the the employer portion (regardless of what your employer at your main W2 work contributes. This is a great opportunity to shelter income inside a tax protected account. Also, you can open a self-directed 401k that allows you to invest in things like real estate and more.
